SCLAD Resource Center Now Available

The SCLAD Resource Center is now a fully operational One-Stop Resource and Career Center for individuals with disabilities. At the SCLAD One-Stop, individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, developmental and/or learning disabilities who seriously wish to become employed can obtain, free of charge, employment services that are specially designed for them.

The SCLAD Center offers a series of basic or "Core" services. The service include many different aspects of employment. Some of the services provided are basic intake and assessment; access to the "JEP-TEC" virtual One-Stop system, which contains a wealth of employment related information, job vacancies, performance information on the job services and training providers; career guidance, assistance with job searches and basic readiness skills; information about support services and other helpful community resources; help in establishing eligibility for Intensive Services, financial aid, etc; and post-placement guidance and follow-up for 12 months after customers become employed.

Qualified individuals with serious barriers to employment are offered beyond Core services. Several Intensive Services, also free of charge include comprehensive assessment of needs; basic skills, interest and aptitude evaluations and functional vocational assessments performed by a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor; development of an Individual Employment Plan and/or Individual Training plan by a CRC; Career counseling and matching of skills/interests to jobs; job readiness skills including modules with video, in groups or individual; referral for Vocational Training through Individual Training Accounts (ITA); referral to employment or On the job Training; and job development and placement.
